Please join us for our special Christmas Devotional Luncheon with an inspirational message from BYU's new Athletic Director Brian Santiago. You'll meet new people, enjoy a delicious lunch, and hear about Brian's experience with BYU Athletics, ethical leadership, and his personal Christmas message to you. Held at the beautiful Hale Centre Theatre, networking begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch program starts at 12:00 noon. Sunday dress.
About Brian Santiago:
Brian Santiago was named the Athletic Director for Brigham Young University on May 13, 2025. Santiago comes to the director of athletics role after decades of experience within BYU Athletics, where he distinguished himself as a leader committed to BYU’s mission and the success of student-athletes, staff and coaches. Brian Santiago was previously BYU’s Deputy Athletic Director. In this position, he oversaw ten sports: men’s and women’s basketball, the baseball and softball programs, men’s and women's volleyball, men’s and women's tennis, and men’s and women’s golf. In addition, he supervised game management for football and basketball, and oversaw sports marketing, communications, and sports camps. He served a four year term on the NCAA Men's Volleyball Committee, serving as Chair in 2013. Santiago graduated from Provo High School in 1988 where he was an all-state performer on the 1987 state championship basketball team. After high school, he played basketball and baseball at Utah Valley, where he was All-Conference and All-Region in both sports. He then went on to play basketball at Fresno State where he led the Western Athletic Conference in assists and three-point shooting percentage, finishing second in the nation from the three-point arc at 50 percent. Santiago spent three years playing professional basketball for the Arecibo Capitanes of the Puerto Rican Superior League, and was named to the pre-selection Olympic team for Puerto Rico. Santiago earned an A.S. in accounting from Utah Valley, a B.S. in business administration with an emphasis in International Business from Fresno State in 1995, and received his MBA from BYU's Marriott School of Management in 2001. After serving a Church mission to the Dominican Republic, Santiago mission, he married the former Kimberly Blackburn. They have three sons, McKay, Colson, Jaxon and one daughter Whitney.
