Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez’s remarkable journey began in the Philippines and carried her into influential leadership roles spanning technology, education, philanthropy, and public policy.

She became a global leader at Microsoft, served in senior academic leadership at the National University of Singapore, and made history as the seventh president and first full-time female president of Utah Valley University.

But this evening is about more than an impressive résumé.

It is about the faith to move forward when the path is uncertain. The courage to rise beyond expectations. And the responsibility great leaders accept to open doors for those who follow.

Join BYU alumni, business and community leaders, and friends for the 15th Annual Pioneer in Leadership Award Gala as we honor Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez and celebrate a life that proves leadership is not determined by where you begin, but by how boldly you move forward and how many people you lift along the way.

The evening will feature dinner, meaningful connections, an inspiring program, and a special guest performance to be announced.

Most importantly, gala proceeds fund scholarships for promising students at BYU and UVU. The Utah Valley Chapter of the BYU Management Society has already awarded more than $225,000 in scholarships, helping future leaders gain the education, opportunity, and confidence to make their own lasting contribution.

This is more than a celebration of one extraordinary leader. It is an investment in those who will lead next.
