From Corporate Controller to Helping Small Businesses

Join us as Jayanthi “Jay” Ganapathy shares her journey from a corporate controller to founding FinAccurate. She'll share the important lessons she learned about entrepreneurship from her experience starting her accounting firm over the last five years. 

About Jay Ganapathy 

Jay Ganapathy is the Founder and CEO of FinAccurate LLC, an accounting firm that delivers business sense. Jay is passionate about helping small business owners understand their key financial statements and cash flow positions so that they can make better business decisions. 

Prior to starting her own business in 2015, Jay held various accounting roles at Philips Electronics, one of the largest electronic companies in the world. Jay worked as the Assistant Manager of Financial Services at Philips Electronics India, moved to Sydney, Australia as Financial Accountant of Philips Electronics before relocating to the North American branch of Philips Electronics where she worked in roles such as Corporate Accountant, and Manager of Accounting Operations. During her career at Philips Electronics, she was accountable and responsible for the general accounting function, including timely and accurate transaction processing, account analysis, reconciliations and schedules, and fixed asset and inventory/cost accounting, International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Integral Profitability Analysis etc..

Jay earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Madras. She is a Certified Cost Accountant and a Chartered Accountant. She also holds a SAP FICO certification.

When she’s not busy with work, Jay loves spending quality time with her family—especially her two “naughty” little boys. Jay also enjoys supporting a local, non-profit organization in her community that promotes peace, culture and education thru dialogue. In her spare time, she often finds herself reading books on personal and business development not only to learn, but to constantly improve herself and her skills.
