Jonathon Wood is currently the Managing Director of the Whitmore Global Management Center in the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University and has worked in the Marriott School for 5 years. He also serves as the International Vice President for the BYU Management Society and has done so for 6 years.
Currently, Jonathon helps with the business study abroad programs and student exchange programs at BYU. He leads the Oxford to India project based study abroad, and helps where needed on other programs such as the Global Marketing Study Abroad which takes students to 12 countries on multiple continents to meet with marketing companies.
Jonathon also manages BYU’s Global Management Certificate, the Global Business and Literacy Minor, and the U.S. Department of Education Center for International Business Education and Research grant. Jonathon and the center are focused on increasing global awareness and competencies in the business school and in the community. As part of this work, Jonathon also creates and manages international education experiences for students and professors from across the country. He is currently working on the India Faculty Development In International Business program with Florida International University and the Middle East North Africa Faculty Development program with George Washington University and the University of South Carolina. In addition, he works with various universities across the country on a variety of programs that expand international business competencies.
Previously, Jonathon spent 14 years marketing and promoting the BYU student performing arts programs such as the International Folk Dance Ensemble and the Chamber Orchestra globally on specialized global learning tours as students were able to perform on professional stages across the globe. He managed and led more than 1,000 students through over 50 countries spanning 25 plus domestic and global student experiential learning tours.
Jonathon serves on the board of the World Trade Center of Utah and the World Trade Association of Utah where he is able to connect the university with businesses and professionals interested in exporting and doing business globally.
Jonathon holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing and International Marketing as well as an MBA, from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University.
