Prenda is a new kind of educational experience. Combining flexible learning environments, cutting edge techniques, human-centered technology, and passionate people to help children develop creativity, problem solving, and 21st century skills. We're excited to hear about the moral and ethical leadership issues in this dynamic new disruptive industry.
Kelly Smith has been obsessed with learning and building things since childhood, from a neighborhood baseball card business to a rap album to a line of cleaning products to high energy laser physics. After earning a master’s degree in nuclear fusion (MIT), Kelly held engineering and marketing roles at various technology companies before selling a small software business and moving back home to Mesa in 2013. He started an afterschool code club at the Mesa Library, helping kids learn computer programming, and he was so excited about the power of self-learning that he started a new kind of school. He currently is the CEO of Prenda (prendaschool.com), a fast-growing education company that helps people run microschools out of their home. We're excited to hear about the moral and ethical leadership issues in this dynamic new disruptive industry.
