Event Description: Illens Dort was born and raised in Haiti. He will share his origin story and how he developed a passion for his pursuits, both professional and humanitarian. Based on his research and extensive study of great leaders, he will discuss principles for becoming a leader that people will want to follow - in all areas of life.
About the speaker: Illens Dort has a unique and inspiring personal and professional background, beginning in Haiti and now in Orem, Utah. In addition to being CEO of the Maximum Impact Council where he helps business executives accelerate growth, Illens is a speaker, author, trainer, coach, and mentor with a passion for helping people find their passion and do it with compassion. He is also a member of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team where he focuses on building leaders. Illens is the author of two books, both available on Amazon, The 5 Secret Fears of Failing in Business (And How To Overcome Them) and Thinking and Acting with a Compassionate Heart (Principles & Ideas that Unlock the Human Potential). Along with speaking, coaching, and writing, Illens is adjunct faculty at BYU, founder and CEO of Lift a Life, a non-profit that has impacted 30,000 children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and founder of HumanEkdromi, a humanitarian excursions organization.
Prior to his current pursuits, Illens held positions at Adobe, Omniture, and Novell. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from BYU, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a certificate from the Goldman Sachs Small Business Program. He is a husband and father, currently lives in Orem Utah, and was born and raised in Haiti, where he found The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and subsequently served a full-time mission.
