Personal Life

Gary Byron Sabin was born in Provo, Utah. He married Valerie Purdy. They are the parents of six children. He received associate and bachelor’s degrees from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree from Stanford University.

Church Life

He has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Netherlands/Belgium Mission, elders quorum president, bishop, stake president, Area Seventy, and is currently serving as a General Authority Seventy. In his calling as a General Authority, he has served as a counselor and president of the Europe Area, and is currently serving as advisor to the Welfare and Self-Reliance Services Department, President of the Perpetual Education Fund, Chairman of the JustServe Steering Committee, assistant executive director of the Temple Department, member of the Boundary and Leadership Change Committee, and counselor in the North America West Area Presidency.

Professional Life

He was the founder and chairman/CEO of two New York Stock Exchange-listed companies focused on commercial real estate ownership. He was also the founder and chairman of Sabin Holdings, an international real estate firm. He has served as a director on several public company and nonprofit boards and is the founder of The Sabin Children’s Foundation, which provides children’s health care in third-world countries.
