The San Francisco Chapter of the BYU Management Society is partnering with Bain & Co. to host the return of BYU Management Society's in-person meetings. We'll be meeting on the 48th floor of the Salesforce tower to discuss Private Equity's role in tech and the economy. Lunch will be provided, and there is no “Zoom option.”
Private Equity’s role in the global economy is much discussed but not well understood. PE firms and PE backed companies employ nearly 12 million workers, representing nearly $1 trillion in annual wages. As of Q2 2022 PE firms had $750 billion in “dry powder” or cash for new investments, and are expected to play an ever-growing role in the market.
We have an incredible panel of PE professionals from top funds (e.g., Francisco Partners, KKR, Thoma Bravo, etc.) who will be sharing some thoughts on how to think like a PE investor.
How do PE professionals identify and evaluate investment opportunities? How can individuals better assess the outlook of a potential employer?
How do PE funds create value and returns for their investors? How can individuals better focus on the activities that create value?
What are some trends in tech (and more broadly) that investors are excited about?
