Following a rich and storied career in business, philanthropy, and academia, Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez became the seventh president of Utah Valley University in 2018. She is the first woman to serve full-time as UVU president. Raised in the slums of the Philippines, Tuminez rose to become a world leader in the fields of technology and political science, recently serving as an executive at Microsoft.

Special Arrangements have been made for two tour times at the “Roots of Knowledge” exhibit at the UVU Student Library for the BYUMS luncheon attendees. These tours are free of charge.
Tour 1 will begin at 11am with Tour 2 immediately following the luncheon. This a mind blowing, massive stained glass creation depicting the development of knowledge from its beginnings through today. Sections of this exhibit traveled the world and was for a time located at Oxford University before its permanent placement in its UVU home. This should not be missed!
